HW#7

1. Find at least four advertisements in the world around you that you think use one of the propaganda techniques that we studied in class today. You can:
  • take a (clear) photo of ads out in the city (on the bus, subway, the side of buildings, in stores, billboards, etc.) and send it to me by email (jctorpey@gmail.com) with "advertisement" in the subject line
  • cut out ads out of a magazine/newspaper
  • find ads on the internet and print them out and bring in to class to show me and your classmates.
2. Use the Propaganda Analysis Chart given out in class to analyze at least four advertisements. Be sure to fill up the entire boxes with your description/analysis. Refer to the handout ("The Most Common Propaganda Techniques") to remind yourself how these techniques work.

I am posting "The Most Common Propaganda Techniques" handout in the Animal Farm page on the class blog (7icehumanities.blogspot.com) if you misplace your sheet.
