    • You will need to be especially creative for Lula! Make inferences about her life based on her attitude/reaction.

1. Explore BLS’ website (BLS.org) and do your own research on the school.

2. Compare the following excerpt of ICE’s mission statement to BLS’ Mission Statement and Honor Code:
  • ICE Mission Statement excerpt: “The atmosphere is warm and personal, and the work is challenging. Teachers make use of both progressive and traditional teaching techniques in order to effectively reach and educate all children. [...] Student performance is measured through careful evaluation of in-depth projects. All students may participate in the after-school program. […] I.C.E. graduates know how to learn, ask questions,  evaluate information, and be effective, ethical participants in a global society.”
