HW#33

Start searching for answers to some of the questions you came up with about life in the 1930s South/Alabama. Be sure to record your sources and put quotation marks around quotes. This will prepare you to inhabit the life of your character for the cycle project.

HW#32

Read chapters 25-26 carefully.

Think of at least 6 questions about life in Alabama / the South in the 1930s that you need to answer to help you better understand the life and times of your character, and better understand their life experiences, worldview, and actions. These questions should be about about people back then, not your character specifically.

Examples:
--What laws in Alabama determined whether women could serve on juries?
--What were games children commonly played in the 1930s?
--What was life like for poor sharecropper families in the South in the 1930s?

You may start researching the answers to these questions using your own internet research and/or some relevant research websites I have collected on this page.

HW#31

Read Chapter 24. Write me an explanation of which character you would like to be for the cycle project and why you are interested in taking on that character's point of view and writing in their voice. Refer to the project guidelines I gave you (also here). You can get started on writing your first journal entry/ inner monologue from their point of view if you're ready!
